We’re now officially saying goodbye to StatsLog4, the previous edition of our Construction Contract Administration software. StatsLog4 has been a legacy product (meaning no updates or support) for almost two years and has now reached its End of Life stage. In practical terms this means that no new users of StatsLog4 will be validated.

The reason for this is that, while StatsLog4 served our clients well for many years, it’s starting to show its age. While we appreciate that some clients want to “stick with what they know,” this is the equivalent of insisting on using pulse telephone service.

A Little History

When StatsLog4 was first released, the vast majority of our clients didn’t have Internet in the office (or had a single workstation used as a shared Internet resource). We delivered StatsLog4 to them on 3.5 inch floppy disks or CD-ROM. A good computer had 64MB of RAM, and ran a Pentium 2 processor at around 400MHz. Cell phones looked like this.

In the years since StatsLog4 was released, Microsoft has released 9 versions of Windows (98, 2000, ME, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10). The iPhone was released 9 years after StatsLog4, and it’s been almost a decade since then. Computers have 4+ GB RAM, terabytes of hard drive space, and multi-core 2+ gHz processors are common. It is, quite frankly, a different world.

Enter FIVE – Our Most Powerful Software Yet

This change is not bad news. FIVE, the latest edition of our software, is more powerful and more flexible than StatsLog4 could ever be. With more features, regular updates, and new services like FIVE Hosted Cloud, there’s never been a better time to make the move to FIVE.

We’ve taken all the things we’ve learned from our clients about how they manage contract administration and built a new product from the ground up. FIVE works with modern operating systems and hardware, is accessible on mobile devices through our browser-based interface Nomad, and we now offer cloud hosted servers, which helps to reduce eliminate IT headaches and bottlenecks. None of that was possible with StatsLog4.
